Most probe requests start the same way: a photo and the question will this fit our machine? Working through three details — connector, clinical job and condition — usually gets you to an answer in one conversation.
1. Start with the connector
The connector is the hard compatibility gate. A probe that does not match your system's connector will not talk to the machine, regardless of how good the specifications look on paper. Connector families differ between manufacturers and even between product generations from the same brand.
The fastest route is to send us the brand and model of your machine. From that we can confirm which connector family you need and which probes are compatible — before you commit to anything.
Send the machine model first, the probe second. Model plus connector narrows the field down to a short list almost immediately.
2. Match the probe to the clinical job
Once compatibility is settled, the clinical use decides the shape of the probe:
- Convex — abdominal, obstetric and gynaecological imaging where depth matters.
- Linear — vascular, musculoskeletal, small parts and needle guidance where detail near the surface matters.
- Phased array — cardiac and cardiac-adjacent work through a small acoustic window.
- Endocavitary — specialised studies where a different approach is required.
If your team covers more than one specialty, tell us which studies you run most often. That helps us recommend whether a single versatile probe or a matched pair is the better value.
3. Decide on the condition
Probes are usually available new, certified refurbished, or used. The right choice depends on how critical the probe is to daily work and on your budget. Whatever the condition, it is worth asking about lens condition, cable strain and the warranty that comes with it — a probe is a wear item, and honest detail here prevents surprises later.
4. What to send us
- Machine brand and model — or the part number from the existing probe.
- The connector type, if you already know it.
- The clinical work it needs to cover.
- How quickly you need it, and how many.
With those four details we can confirm compatibility, options and pricing, and come back with a clear next step.
